And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.
And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace.
Luke 8:48
I used to play a game with my kids. I would stand next to the bed and tell them to jump into my arms. They would jump and I would catch them. Then I would move back one foot and tell them to jump. Again they would leap into my arms. I would move back to two feet and tell them to jump. This is where their faith starts kicking in. I could read in their little minds, "Will daddy catch me?" Then they jump and I would catch them into my arms. We would laugh and laugh together. Then I would move back three feet. Now faith and doubt starts battling each each other. I now have to start encouraging them, "Come on, I'll catch you, you can do it." Then the leap of faith as they jump into the air and I reach out my arms to catch them.
It takes faith to believe in God who we have never seen. It takes faith to read the Bible and trust that God will provide, but God says our faith in Him can save us. Our faith in Him can make us whole. God says jump and I will catch you. Trust in Me and I'll reach out my arms to catch you. What a joy it has been to have faith in God because just as I have enjoyed my children having faith in me God rejoices as we have faith in Him.
