And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubilee unto you;
Leviticus 25:10
We recently took a trip to Disneyland just before Christmas. We had a great time seeing the park decorated in Christmas theme throughout the park. They had a huge tree on Main Street decorated with tons of Disney ornaments. They even had Christmas ornament balls shaped in Mickey ears and the Princess castle was decorated with Christmas lights that gave a violet glow to it. We went to “It’s A Small World” ride which I was dreading because they play the one song over and over and over throughout the ride, but we found out that even that one song was changed to multiple Christmas songs. It was actually worth going on again.
It was a fun couple of days spending time together during the Christmas season at Disneyland . My only regret is that I wish I had more time off to enjoy it more. As I read today’s passage I am amazed with the word “Jubilee”. I looked it up in the dictionary and it means, a time of celebration. And boy, did God plan a celebration! A whole year off from plowing the fields! I would love a year off because as I read this passage God said that He would still provide as the land rejuvenated for that year. Wow, a paid vacation for a year! I’m ready for it now.
Someday we’ll be in heaven enjoying God’s presence, a jubilee with God.
Today's Theme
We can find rest in God today, before Heaven. Celebrate with God today.
